THE MUMMY

The Mummy is a famous play by William Bayle Bernard that was staged in 1833 and some claim it was the "father" of other mummy plays and movies. However, it was preceded by the popular novel, The Mummy! A Tale of the Twenty-Second Century, published anonymously by Jane C. Loudon in 1827.
